On a map of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast there is an old village called Diveyevo, a place famous in Russia and all over the world. This is the place where the greatest relic of the Christian world — the relics of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, protector of the Diveyevsky Monastery — are kept. This famous Russian monk lived leading a pure monastic life like that which hermits lived during the first centuries of Christianity. Every year hundreds of thousands of religious people visit the Saint Seraphim-Diveyevo Monastery, calling it one of the most blessed places on earth.
