Snow-covered forest, sunshine and fresh, frosty air…what else could a person ask for when it comes to enjoying the winter weather? All of these things can be easily found in Karelia. It’s no surprise that this northern region with its fluffy white snowdrifts was discovered long ago by those who love to go snowmobiling. The area’s Open Karelia festival, which also serves as a competition, has already won international fame. Participants of all skill levels – from beginners to professionals - are welcome to take part in the several different types of events: Country-cross, sprint-cross and the «Karelian Enduro», a team event in which participants race on drastically changing terrain.
