Water tourism is one of the most popular recreational activities in Russia, a country full of rivers with different classes of rapids. The mountain rivers of the Urals are particularly famous as they are both easily accessible to tourists and surrounded by beautiful natural and historical sights. White water rafting down three Ural rivers is the focus of RTG’s new programme. A trip down the Chusovaya River, located in the Middle Urals, gives rafters a chance to see many of the man-made and natural artifacts that the area has to offer and get acquainted with the dramatic history of the development of the Ural Mountains. Rafting down the Kozhim River in the Komi Republic’s Near Polar Urals is an exciting and interesting experience for both extreme adventure-seekers and nature-lovers. The Sob River in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is also known for its rowdy and unpredictable rapids, located beyond the Arctic Circle and one of the furthest north rapids on the planet.
