Kostroma Flax Combine

According to one version the name of Kostroma city comes from «kostyor», literally translated as «cheat» that is found on the inside of the flax stalk. During hundreds of years flax was primary textile to produce cloths and house items in Rus'. Kostroma Flax Combine is one of the most ancient enterprises in Russia. One hundred years ago it was the world's hugest one in producing flax fibre. Today this is where every third meter of flax material in Russia is produced. RTG presenter Yanina Studinina learnt the whole process of flax production and sewed decorative serviette by mastering special «set-in angle».
