Resorts on the coast of the Black Sea have long been a traditional summer vacation spot for millions of Russians and guests from the near abroad. Five large cities and dozens of small towns stretch along the Black Sea’s 450-kilometre coast where inhabitants are ready and waiting to host the crowds of visitors. Gelendzhik is one of these cities. Located 1,500 kilometres from Moscow, a two-hour flight from the capital allows visitors a weekend escape to the Black Sea where they can stroll along the water, enjoy local dishes, go for a short yacht cruise and also cast a rod.
