At the end of 40s-50s of the last century for the 800th anniversary of Moscow city 8 unique high-rise buildings were erected. The Ukraine Hotel is the seventh of the legendary Moscow skyscrapers as regards to terms of building and the second highest one. It was designed as Europe largest hotel up to that time. Enormous buildings urged to raise Moscow high-rise panorama. The former building surrendered the initiative to new constructions which had sprang up in the capital of the Soviet Union and maintained the standard for its further architectural development. Moscow Skyscrapers are the real masterpiece, summit of Stalin Empire architectural style. The Ukraine Hotel was closed for renovation and got new appearance when opened in spring 2010. Today one of the best five star hotels Radisson Royal Moscow is located in this historic building.
