Magnitogorsk — Russia's metallurgy capital

Once upon a time there was Magnitnaja Mountain, next to which in 30s of XX Century the first blast furnace for smelting metal was built. Today there is hardly anything left of the mountain, and the great Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine has sprung up around a blast furnace. Thanks to it the city of Magnitogorsk won fame of the metallurgical capital of Russia. You can learn there how and where the temper is steeled, watch yourself where and how fire rivers flow, how the sparks flake out just as salute from the pouring metal, how the steel is rolled out to the thinest metal plate, which in it's turn is twisted into giant rolls. The only way to see this is to work there. But one can have an excursion to the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine, guided by the presenter Igor Maximenko.
