Kaliningrad Oblast is the most western in Russia. It's located on the coast of the Baltic sea and doesn't have direct borders with other country's regions. After the Second World War these lands, a former part of East Prussia, were given to the Soviet Union, and when the Union broke off in 1991 borders of new state the Republic of Belarus lied between Kaliningrad Oblast and Russia. Such a unique status of enclave in Russia and Europe, complicated destiny is expressed in architecture, tradition and way of living in cities and villages, and wonderful severe nature attracts thousand of tourists.
