The Anapa spit barrier, a sandy ridge on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus, nowadays is a 50-kilometre resort area stretching from the city of Anapa to the Taman Peninsula. It is home to many shallow-watered local beaches and dunes that, in the eyes of those that see them, seem to transform into mountains of gold on hot days.
