The Pushkin Memorial Museum-Apartment

When one enters a yard of ancient estate on the Moyka river embankment he or she feels captured atmosphere of 19th century. Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin settled there in September 1836. This apartment was his last lodge in Saint-Petersburg. It was from this place that he went to fatal duel with d'Anthès, and it was there that he was delivered bleeding and injured. Memorial apartment is full of interesting exhibits, everything preserves its original appearance as it was in Pushkin's time: his favourite sofa, shelves with books in different languages, his children's belongings, wife's portrait... According to Alexander's friends recall the apartment on Moyka river was one of a few places where Pushkin felt himself absolutely happy.
