In the city of Ivanovo there are more than twenty universities and every fifth resident is a student. Many of the learning institutions located in this small city in western Russia are famous well beyond Ivanovo’s borders. For example the Ivanovo State Textile Academy, which is run by one of its graduates, outstanding Russian designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev. Another example is the Ministry of Emergencies’ Fire-Fighting Institute which, for almost 50 years, has been training firemen who serve all over the country. RTG TV host Rumiya Niyazova got to know some of Ivanovo’s young residents.
