In the eastern part of Leningrad Oblast — far removed from big cities — is Vepssky Forest, which is a stretch of almost 200 quadratic metres of untouched nature. It is in the gloomy shadows of this wood that the rivers that feed into the basins of the Baltic and Caspian seas are born. The area is also home to the descendants of a Finno-Urgic people, the Vespians. In this area they have managed to preserve their everyday culture, language and traditions. To learn more, presenter Alexander Uvarov travelled to this land of fog and legends.
