The manor house in which the museum is located, in the center of Moscow, was built in the 17th century and belonged to the famed Russian diplomat Ivan Osterman. Today, the archive of the Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts preserves works created by the most talented Russian artists and craftsmen over the course of three centuries. The collection contains 219,000 exhibits found in the central part of Russia and the Povolzhie Region. The museum comprises 3,000 square meters. Russian Travel Guide's host Yanina Studilina has taken part in the interactive programs organized here, tried on Cossack dress and even been inside the storage facilities - the holy of holies in any museum.
