The capital city of Karelia Petrozavodsk was founded in the year 1703 at the behest of Peter I the Great. Firstly small arm factories were built there, then the city sprung up around them. On of the most interesting places here is Onezhskaya Embankment. It's a real museum at the open air. Many contemporary artists make a present of their works of art to the city. On of the most unexpected sculptures appeared here for the first time. This composition «Fishermen» created by American artist Raphael Consuegra was a gift to Petrozavodsk from the sister city Duluth. After a brisk walk around Petrozavodsk the presenter Urij Pesyakov went on his cruise of Karelia picking his way to the village Verkhniye Mandrogi, where the vodka museum is situated.
